Whether it be your dog or cat, pet hamster or budgie, do make sure you take your precious darlings to the vet at least once a year. It is like taking yourself to the doctor or dentist for your own annual checkup. You need to make sure that you are well and if not, the doctor can always fix you. Of course, you also know when you are not feeling so good and then you’ll be prompted to go to the doctor anyhow.
But pets, on the other hand, are a different kettle of fish. If you know your dog or cat really well, you should know when they are unwell. They are not quite their normal selves. And if such pets have a phobia for cars, you could arrange for the shoreview veterinary clinic to come and fetch them. The drivers should know how to handle the animals with the utmost care and sensitivity by now. You can always tell when a poor little budgie is stressed.
When you get stressed sometimes, you could feel like you are losing your marbles. But with the bird, it’s the feathers, they’ve dropped right down to the bottom of the cage. The animal was never meant to live in a noisy suburban jungle. The Amazon jungle would have been better. But having had its wings clipped, sitting in a cage all day, this little animal might not mind going for a joy ride. It all depends on how well you have looked after your pet.
And how well it has come to trust you. Credit to you for getting them this far. Nevertheless, with old age creeping into their legs, senior pets might need more than one annual visit to the vet.
